Acne Treatments At Home

Steven asks…

Do you put acne treatment gel on before or after using moisturizer?

I just purchased an acne treatment gel (Neutrogena 3-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment), so do you put the gel before or after you use moisturizer?

admin answers:

Acne is caused due to the wrong food habits and improper skin care. It is also caused due to hormonal changes. Another important cause is the high level of insulin produced by processed carbohydrates. This excess level of insulin creates blockage in pores and extra oil under the skin. Acne is an extreme condition of sebaceous glands. When hair follicles are plugged with Acne Marks or Scars

dead cells and sebum, acne is formed. There are many ways to eliminate acne scars at home.

Is Hydrogen Peroxide a good treatment for acne?

I’ve been looking online for at-home acne cures, and one treatment I’ve been seeing a lot is hydrogen peroxide acne treatment. Would that be a good way to treat acne? How would I use it? Would I just apply hydrogen peroxide topically on my face? How often should I use it? Is it safe? Any other advice/suggestions? Thanks!

Gah, acne.. I had acne for 7 years and used every treatment out there until i was put on accutane (YAY!) and i havent had a spot for years :D .
Anyway, i had hydrogen peroxide (i cant remember what volume, sorry) in a topical gel form. It dries out your spots to a crisp if you use lots which gets rid of redness etc. If you do use it MAKE SURE to wash your face with a mild cleanser to make sure you dont dry your skin out more and get a good moisturiser (but not heavy because that will clog your pores). I used mine every night and morning.
Good luck! Keep trying different treatment if that one doesnt work but give it time! :D

Mary asks…

Why did my acne treatment turn my face red and warm?

Every time i use my acne treatment, my skin is always dry, red, and warm. So i put on the toner and lotion, and that seems to help the dryness. However, it still remains blotchy red around the bridge of my face, and kind of warm. The treatment, toner, etc. works for my acne extremely well, compared to anything else i’ve used in the past. Even later in the day, my skin is still red. Why is this happening? It never happened before, just when I wash it. D: Help.

I think its due to what you are applying on your face for acne. But I will suggest you that if it is leaving such redness and irritation on your skin then it might not be suitable for your skin.
