Acne Treatments That Work Overnight

Linda asks…

How to get rid of acne marks/scars?

I have some acne scars on my face that are basically little red dots. I can cover them with makeup just fine, but I really want to get rid of them so I can use less makeup. I’ve already tried Clean and Clear Acne Mark Treatment and it didn’t work. Does anyone have any recommendations for products or remedies?

Oh my gosh, witch hazel mixed with lavender essential oil is the best combination for scars! I swear by it. Take some witch hazel (a natural astringent) in a little container and put just a couple drops of lavender oil and then dip a cotton ball in it and gently rub it all over your face. (I do it twice, daily-once in the morning and once at night) Sleep with it on overnight and you should start to see improvements in a weeks time. I know everyone’s skin is different but hopefully it will work for ya. Hopefully it will :)

What are some natural homemade acne treatments?

I have some pimples that won’t go away and I don’t think products work on my skin very well. But natural stuff does. Like easy things that you can find in your kitchen please. Recipies that will make my skin smoother, clean, soft, and acne free! Thank you!

This is a great acne cure treatment for redness and blotchiness. This vinegar tonic is very simple to make and is the easiest of all home acne treatments to use. This is what you will need:

- A glass of water
- 1 tablespoon of apple vinegar added to the water and mix
- Dip cotton balls in the mixture and apply it to your face – especially where you have red spots
- If possible, leave it on overnight and rinse off in the morning

Keep the solution in the refrigerator and use it every night before going to bed. After a few weeks you should notice a reduction in the redness and blotchiness.

I’m not too sure about a dermatologist, I’m looking for one too for a different condition, but if you could describe what type of acne you have and what type of skin type you have I could possibly give you a couple of more specific home remedy tips.

Generally, what I do is put a bit of clay masque on developing and apparent spots overnight. Also keeping a skincare regime is helpful for mild acne.

1 Wash with a gentle anti-acne soap.
2 Tone, preferably alcohol and oil free toner.
3 Moisturize, oil free.

Look for products with salicylic acid, glycerin, and tea tree oil.

I would not suggest facial scrubs if you have severe acne. If you have oily skin, you may want to use a clay mask once or twice a week after washing and before toning. Also, a general helpful tip is drink plenty of water.

The key is being consistent with your skin care regime, and it might be up to three months before you see a significant change. (Three whole months! I know . . . )

Also, a lot of my friends swear by Proactive. I’d honestly rather go to a dermatologist before becoming a slave to a product like that.
