Clear Acne In 4 Weeks

James asks…

How long does birth control take to clear acne?

I’ve been on yaz for 2 months and 3 weeks now and my acne is just as bad as when I started on it. I got my hormones tested before I went on it and found out I have elevated testosterone levels, which my dermatologist said was most likely causing my acne. He said that yaz would normalize my hormone levels and get rid of my acne. But it hasn’t happened yet, will it ever make it any better?

admin answers:

It doesn’t work right away, your body has to get used to it. Wait a few cycles and it should start clearing up, though it is not guaranteed. I would say wait about 4 to 6 months, and if it does not work you could try a different birth control brand! Yaz is known to be good with acne though so i’m sure that it will work you just need some patience :) Good luck!
