Clear Acne In 4 Weeks

Maria asks…

How should I approach my acne problem?

I have had acne since I was about 15. I am now 20 and thought it would be gone by now…

I use some proactive products, St. Ives facial scrub, and a foam face scrubber.

I exercise daily and eat fairly healthy, and drink lots of water.

I wash my face in the morning and follow it with the Proactive toner and lotion, doing the same at night.

I wear light MAC studio fix NC 15 makeup during the day, but not too much.

Any tips on how to alter my approach to controlling my acne issue?

Acne is caused by a combination of factors including dead skin, the use of oily skin products, dirty skin and hormonal imbalances.

The best way for you to protect yourself against acne is to follow these simple guidelines.

1. Wash your face at least twice a day with mild soap or a mild acne cleanser. Also wash around your neck if possible.

2. Always keep your skin clean. You can do that by bathing twice a day and staying away from dirt and dusty environments.

3. Very Important!!. Avoid oil based skin lotions and other oil based skin products. Always use water based skin products. Ask the shop assistant when purchasing such products for information.

4. Detoxify your body every once in a while. You can do that by using colon cleansers or other detox products. This helps with blood circulation and helps in clearing clogged spots.

Follow those steps and you will prevent your acne from spreading further.

For your scars, use Vitamin E oil to rub on them. They should disappear after a few weeks. You can just by vitamin E supplement and use the oil for that. I know I said you should use oil based skin products but this is different.

Chris asks…

What is the most effective way to treat cystic acne?

I have been to my family doctor, took antibiotics (minocyclin, tetracycline) and had an allergic reaction to them (hives). I have had a chemical peel, and 2 acne treatment/facials (another chemical peel on the way). I use/switch my acne wash system every few months and have not found something that will work. I am wondering if there may be a underlining health issue (something that may be affecting my hormones) or if I am allergic to “blond” shampoo or something. I just switched to hypoallergenic shampoo about a week ago (waiting to see results or anything different). Im not sure if it matters but I am 23 and this acne issue started about 2 years ago. Please help! Oh and I use oil free non commodogenic make up and hypoallergenic laundry soap.

You should do cleansing, toning, and moisturizing your face twice a day – when you wake up in the morning and before you go to bed at night. You should use an exfoliant once or twice a week also. Read section 4.2 General Skin Care Routines for more info
