Clear Acne In 4 Weeks

Lisa asks…

What is an effective way to remove blackheads?

I have oily skin (yuck) and blackheads throughout my t-zone and chin. I’ve tried Biore pore strips and Clean and Clear blackhead scrub, and neither of them did much for me. What should I do? Thanks in advance :)

Acne, blackheads and oily skin can be caused by a lot of different factors, such as cosmetic use, emotional and hormonal factors, genetics, medications and diet. It is important that the skin is gently cleansed no more than twice a day with mild soap, such as Cetaphil cleanser, with your hands or a warm and gentle washcloth, rinse and then pat dry. The Clean and Clear blackhead scrub actually contains exfoliant beans and this is too rough for the skin, so it may be causing some redness and extra dead skin. Try to avoid touching your skin throughout the day, wearing friction-producing clothing, such as head bands and chinstraps, avoid oil-based make-up and lastly do not pick/squeeze already established pimples.
A benzoyl peroxide gel 2.5% (ie. Clearasil Ultra or Clean and Clear) is usually the first choice because it is antibacterial and prevents dead skin cells from clogging pores and causing blackheads. Gels usually contain alcohol which helps to dry the skin. Some side effects include excessive dryness, peeling, stinging or burning. With this product it is important to apply to clean, dry skin, leave on for 15 minutes and then wash off. Increase the application time by 15 minutes until it can stay on the skin for 2 hours; then it can be applied to the skin and left on overnight. If you start with the 2.5% concentration, it can be increased if there are no visible improvements within 4-6 weeks. Occasionally the acne will get worse before it gets better. It can take up to 4-6 weeks for the full effect, so be sure to stick with one regimen for a few weeks to see an improvement.

What is the healthiest and most cleansing acne face wash?

i want to use a DAILY face wash that can treat ACNE, feel REFRESHING on my skin, CLEAN my skin very well, and make my face really HEALTHY.

Do not use a scrub like St. Ives Apricot everyday. That will dry out and damage your skin. Scrubs should be used only up to 3-4 times a week to exfoliate the skin.

This is how I got clear skin:

1. Cleanse- I used Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser. Even though it has no acne fighting ingredients, it still gets rid of dirt, makeup, and oils. You don’t need a cleanser with acne fighting ingredients, because it is washed off right away. A bottle is about $5.

2. Tone- 5 mintues after cleansing, using 3 cotton pads, I spread Dickinson’s Witch Hazel toner all over my face. Use 3 cotton pads so bacteria doesn’t get spread around. One for forehead, one for both cheeks, and one for nose and chin. A bottle is about $6.

3. Spot treat- I use ZAPZYT 10% Benzoyl Peroxide treatment zel. This stuff is amazing! After one use the pimples are definitely reduced. To use, take a dab and apply it to pimples only, not over the entire face! You can reapply it as many times are you think you need it. A tube is about $6.

4. Moisturize- You may not need a moisturizer if you have oily skin, but benzoyl peroxide may dry out your skin. I use Eucerin Clear Skin Formula. I don’t know if they sell this anymore, I can’t find it. Any light oil-free moisturizer would help. I only use moisturizer during the day. Because dry skin + makeup= doesn’t look pretty!

5. Exfoliate- I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub. Three times a week I use this in the morning instead of cleasning, then follow the routine like normal. A bottle is about $4.

After a month or two on the regimen my skin was completely clear! :)
I had horrible acne, it was on my forehead, cheeks, nose, chin, chest, and back!
But, this really worked for me. All the products lasted SERVERAL months!
Make sure you cleanse, tone, and spot treat twice a day. Moisturizing can be done just in the morning. Exfoliating is morning only 3-4 times a week in place of the morning cleansing. Make sure you stick with a routine for a couple months before getting discouraged! Be patient, everything takes time.

So, about $20 for clear skin, and these products will last you a couple months! :)

Good luck! I hope it will work for you like it did for me.

I’m 13 and HAD a bit of acne. Now my face is so clear! And I used a Neutrogena astringent u can probably get at target or Walmart, it’s blue and comes in a medium-big sized bottle white cap and again the astringent is blue-aqua and it like clears ur pores it does me wonders! I will just rinse my face often to get rid of the oils, I hear oil blotting sheets work well? The elf zit zapper is like 1$ and works btw the astringent is like 4-6$ but is worth it!!! Also u can search on YouTube about egg masks they’re nice! I’ve tried them(: hope I helped..(:
