Treatments For Acne Scars

Paul asks…

Does microdermabrasion work for acne scars and large pores?

I am interested in microdermabrasion to reduce my pore size and to reduce the redness from my acne scars. Does this treatment work? What are the results I can expect?

admin answers:

Microderm abrasion is a simple, straight forward, non-invasive procedure that revitalizes dull skin, reduces large pores, erases fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, reduces mild pigment irregularities (hyperpigmentation), stretch marks and age spots. It is equally effective to other skin treatments and, most importantly, it allows you to get back to your daily routine immediately after treatment
By removing a very fine skin layer, micro derm abrasion stimulates collagen production, thus encouraging cellular renewal. Old skin is replaced by new healthy skin cells – this is known to help acne, enlarged pores and blackheads, age spots and sun-damaged skin and uneven skin tone (hyperpigmentation).
Microdermabration removes excess oil, debris and dead cells – This also helps minimize large pores and get rid of pimples and age spots.
Yes microdermabrasion works well for large pores and acne scars.Microdermabrasion has well known positive results on superficial acne scars and large pores.•Microdermabrasion mildly exfoliates the top layer of the skin in order to remove superficial acne scarring. It strips a very, very fine layer of skin (but thicker than the layer removed by regular facials) where old acne scar cells are stuck. You can do it at home .Use only good standard microdermabrasion kits.Use this “ARTISTRY MICRE DERMA BRASION SYSTEM”.
The gentle, effective at-home alternative to microdermabrasion without the risk! The Artistry Microdermabrasion System offers an at-home alternative to microdermabrasion, providing professional-grade results and glowing skin. For all skin types .There’s a reason microdermabrasion treatments originated in the dermatologist’s office. The jagged aluminum crystals it requires can cause microscopic tears in tender skin, if improperly applied. Artistry skin care believes in powerful but gentle beauty. That’s why the Artistry Microdermabrasion System was developed. This at-home alternative provides professional-grade results and glowing skin. The Microdermabrasion System consists of Artistry Polishing Scrub, MicroExfoliation Cloth, and Skin Refinishing Lotion.

How to lighten freckles and acne scars?

I am caucasian and would like to lighten some acne scars and freckles but can’t afford microdermabrasion or that kind of thing. Is there anything I can buy that works, such as a cream or something or even an inexpensive treatment at a dermatologist or spa (I live in nyc)? I could use some advice thx!

There are many over the counter bleaching agents, but to get the best remedy is go to your doctor and get a prescription for a Hydroquinone cream it is stronger. This is very effective but it does take a little time to work. You can also get a microdermabrasion kit at your local drugstore for about $20.00. They doe help, but probably the most effective and quickest solution is laser treatment. I tried everything before I had the laser treatments, though a little expensive. They are the miracle we all are looking for.

What is the BEST way to remove acne scars?

I have some acne scars and I want to remove them. What is the best way? Laser treatments, microdermabrasion, etc?

admin answers:

A friend of mine used laser to get rid of his scars, which were quite pitted, honestly it didn’t make much of a difference. I also knew someone who had some awful red/purple acne and she got microdermabrasion, now she has better skin than me! Another alternative, which I wouldn’t personally recommend unless you have really shocking skin, is to go for an acid peel. You would have to see a cosmetic surgeon for this. It peels back the layers of skin, which leaves you looking red/pussy for a couple of weeks and then slowly your skin heals and you have a fresh new layer of skin without any acne! However, this is rather risky. On the other hand, if these measures are too drastic why don’t you try using rose hip oil and rub it into your scars twice a day. Trilogy skincare do a really good quality one. I use it, its great for skin healing/recovery. Good luck!
