Treatments For Acne Under The Skin

Paul asks…

How to hide or get rid of acne scars?

I have acne scars on my chin and my right cheek. They are either from cystic acne that was under my skin for a really long time or popping pimples that were sore or full of puss. I have stopped popping my pimples. I use concealer and foundation but the scars are still visible. What should I do to hide them or get rid of them? Thank you:)

Go to a dermatologist to get prescribed an acne scar topical medicine. I got one and it worked so well. Or you can try using a dark spot treatment like clinique’s: http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P257535&categoryId=B15
ive used it in the past and it did help fade them a little but not totally. And u have to use it religiously and u dont see results for atleast a month

What is the best multi-step treatment for stubborn acne?

I have moderate acne mostly on my chin from the way I sleep with my blanket. The pimples are mostly red and sore. There are also a lot under the skin. I have tried proactive, skin-id, and I’m using AcneFree Severe right now. Nothing seems to prevent new pimples from forming. Any suggestions?

Positive changes in dieting and lifestyle will result in better skin condition. Below are few examples:

- Eat plenty of nutritious food which contain Vitamin (A, E, B-2 and B-3), Zinc, Omega-3 fatty acids and Calcium.
- Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day which will keep your body well hydrated.
- Use sulfur based soap for acne twice a day works great if you want to prevent acne.
- Honey is a great antibacterial treatment, as you already know acne is generated because of bacteria and oils in your skin.
- You may apply garlic directly into the pimple and it will go away. But be careful you can have allergic reactions to it.

How can I get rid of brownish acne scars?

My acne is under control but now I would like to get rid of the nasty brownish acne scars. How can I do that without having to go to a dermatologist?

There are over the counter ones like Bio Oil which for a small bottle is AUD$ 11.95. This stuff works for most scarring including stretch marks, normal scars and acne scarring. Or you can go get your face Microgermabrased which takes off a layer of your skin to remove the scarring it is painless and not as dangerous as other skin resurfacing treatments. Dermabrasion cost AUD$90-150 or you can buy the home kit which i recommend after you get it professionallydone that are AUD$30-50. If Bio oil does not work try microdermabrasion kits.
